Short stay Visa

Visits to the Netherlands for short stays (maximum 90 days) for business visits, family visits or tourism, require a Schengen visa. This only applies to countries for which there is a visa requirement. The application for a Schengen visa can be occasionally denied. Most refusals are due to insufficient information with regard to the purpose of the trip, leading to an assumption that the applicant might settle in the Netherlands. The most frequent reason for denial is that insufficient evidence has been provided of economic or social ties to the country of origin/residence. However, practice shows that an objection to the denial is often beneficial, as a visa could still be granted.
